What is the moment that made you think about the “best out of waste” concept?

I always blame my parents for keeping the old things in the loft. One day, I decided to throw them out and unloaded them from the loft. I don’t know that they are going to be my beautiful home decoration assets.

I suddenly searched the internet and gathered some ideas about how to change those available so-called waste items, and to make the best out of waste home decoration items.

But unfortunately, out of those hundreds of ideas, only a few came into life. So, here I am sharing the top 5 ideas that can be practically workable to make the best out of waste.

Before jumping into the ideas, I just want to answer some questions that will eventually become the prerequisites or the initial warmup to start our eye-catching project.

What do you mean by best out of waste?

Creating a useful product out of the waste available at our home. Mostly, people apply this concept to create some beautiful home decoration products.

Can I reuse plastic bottles to make the best out of waste?

Yes. As plastic bottles are easily available, harmful to the environment if thrown away but not to our home if we use it properly, we can make a lot of decoration and useful items with that.

Is recycling helps the earth?

Absolutely. We always throw plastic, and other wastes which are dumped or fired. Dumping non-biodegradable wastes will affect the quality of the soil and firing plastic-like products will pollute the environment.

So, the earth will definitely return this favor to our future generations.

So, Keep in mind that we are not only going to create a beautiful home decoration item but also going to help the earth prolong its life span.

Now, let us jump into the 5 eye-catching decoration items that can be made from waste products.

Decorating with Waste Bottle Cap

Most of us definitely have a lot of plastic bottles in our homes. Especially soft drink bottles.

Let us discuss reusing the plastic bottles later. Initially, we can discuss using the bottle cap as a decoration item.

This is the simplest one among all other ideas. You just need the bottle caps and glue to do this.

The image shown above is for your understanding, but to be honest, we can be an artist with these caps.

First, think of a design or just simply download any line drawing from google. But keep in mind that the size of your decoration depends on the number of caps available and their color.

Then draw an outline of your desired shape on the wall using a pencil. This is the most important step as you have to just paste the caps over or around the lines as per your wish.

Before pasting, clean the caps and segregate them as per their color.

Finally, use double side tape or glue gun or any other glue which can help you paste the cap over the wall.

That’s it. Your simple wall decoration will be ready to see the world. This may seem very simple, but this will help us do the other best out of waste experiments with some confidence.

You can also make a mirror frame or a photo frame with the caps. I am just attaching an image for your reference. If you want to make a frame like this, then just visit the site for instructions.

Old Tyre to New Small Tea Table

Mostly, when we change the bike or the car’s tyres, we just throw the old tyres or keep them in our house for a longer duration without utilizing them.

Why can’t we use that now to beautify our home?

This is one of the best ideas to make the best out of waste on the internet. We can make a small tea table using the old tyre, as shown in the image below.

To make this, besides the tyre, we need plywood, rope, and sponge (optional). For machining this we need a drilling machine, screws, and screwdrivers, glue gun, or other adhesive and a scissor.

Just place the plywood over the tyre and drill the screws on the three distant spots. Flip the tyre and repeat the same. You can stuff a sponge inside the tyre for cushioning.

That’s it, the actual shape is ready.

After that, stick the rope as shown in the image circularly starting from the center of the plywood.

Beautiful Storage box using old cardboard box

When we go shopping and buy a branded shirt, the storekeeper pack the shirt inside the cardboard box for us.

What will you do with that cardboard box?

Oh! I hope you are recalling some unused boxes at the house corner. Just pick that up and impress your mom with the brand new tray.

The prerequisite for this “best out of waste” experiment is the cardboard box, a rope, color paper or some papers for beautifying it, and glue.

Just paste the jute rope as shown in the image around the cardboard box. Start from the bottom so that we can have good finishing.

Before that, create a round-shaped hole in the box corner part. That will help you hold and carry the tray.

Paste the decorative papers inside the box to make it look beautiful. For detailed know-how, please visit this site.

Snowman using Old Socks

Now, we are here to experiment with the more exciting “best out of waste” concept, the old sock snowman.

Most of the time, my mom scolded me for losing one sock from the pair. The lonely one became useless. But not after this.

What if we can give life to a lonely sock? That’s what we are going to do now.

Just pick up the lonely sock along with some old cloth pieces, rubber bands, and some glue. We can also include buttons, map pins, etc to make it look real.

Just cut the sock in half and bring its inner part outside. Fill it with the old cloth pieces or you can also use sesame seeds or thermocol pieces.

Put the rubber band at the three fourth of the sock height. It will be like a head and a body. You can tie the top part or paste it with glue to close the head.

Insert the map pins as eyes and pin the buttons on the stomach part.

That’s it. Our snowman is ready.

This is my favorite “best out of waste” experiment on the list.

Cardboard Photo Frame

And finally, we have a photo printer in our home but; I have to spend some money on a photo frame if I decide to frame the photo.

After this idea, I started making frames on my own.

This is just a simple do-it-yourself idea that will help to beautify our walls.

Just pick up cardboard and cut it in a rectangular shape. Before that, place the photo over the cardboard and mark the border lines.

Cut the solid rectangular cardboard’s center part to make it hollow.

Pick up some color threads and tie it on the four corners as shown in the image. Then paste the picture on the backside of the frame.

If you want the frame to allow different photos at different times, then paste a transparent sheet on its backside. So, you can insert the picture and remove that without hurting the frame.

You can also use poster colours and watercolours to paint the frame walls to make them more attractive.

So, these are the five eye-catching best out of waste ideas I implemented and felt useful.
